NCAFP Northern Ireland Emerging Leaders Concluding Conference - October 8th-9th 2024
The National Committee on American Foreign Policy (NCAFP) held its inaugural conference for the Northern Ireland Emerging Leaders program in New York City on October 8-9, 2024. This engaging two-day event brought together NCAFP’s Northern Ireland Emerging Leaders with policymakers, experts, and influential figures to explore innovative policy ideas aimed at fostering a more secure and inclusive future for Northern Ireland and beyond.
As Director of the Program Emma had the great privilege of leading the 2 day delegation, including moderating two prominent panels including 'A Rights-based Future' featuring Kerry Kennedy, Professor Martin Flaherty, and Emerging Leaders Leah Rachel Rea and Judith Atwell.
The second panel that Emma moderated was on 'Investing in the Future of Northern Ireland' featuring Andrea Haughian, Invest NI, Richard Cushnie, NI Bureau, Nicholas Michael, Irish American Partnership, and Jane McCooey, Morgan Stanley.
This was a critical conversation on the importance of relationship building, bringing people in, and finding new approaches to both promote and advance peace, reconciliation, and wellbeing in Northern Ireland.
The Northern Ireland Emerging Leaders program is a yearlong transatlantic mentorship program for next generation community leaders and policy practitioners from across the region.
