Glencree 50th anniversary Women in Peacebuilding Panel - September 7th 2024
Emma moderated a special Women, Peace and Security panel to mark the 50th anniversary of the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation.
The panel was organised by the Women’s Leadership Programme at Glencree which supports women from across the island of Ireland who have been affected by political and violent conflict to expand their influence, become/continue to be active leaders in their community and engage in policy/decision making conversations that promote peace. As part of the Glencree@50 weekend, Emma moderated the 'Unsung Heroines - Celebrating Women in Peacebuilding' panel to celebrate the role of women peacebuilders and their contributions to promote positive peace and reconciliation across communities. Many of the women we engage with work at grassroots or community level, and often their stories of dedication and commitment to sustaining peace and good relations can go unnoticed. Speakers included Tara Grace Connolly, Amina Moustafa, Catherine Cooke, and Kathy Wolff.
