Civic Initiative Report Launch, Queen's University, Belfast - February 24

As the founder and co-facilitator of the Civic Initiative Emma joined colleagues at Queen's University Belfast to launch the concluding report from the Initiative's first citizen examination.

18 months, 38 community workshops, and a Citizens' Forum on Housing later, the appetite for citizens' assemblies and greater engagement in policy and decision-making is clear. Emma delivered a presentation on the work of the Forum, arguing for political representatives to take stock from the work of the Civic Initiative and bring forward commitments in New Decade, New Approach to hold a citizens' assembly every year. Emma was delighted to join colleagues and members of the Citizens' Forum on Housing for a subsequent panel discussion on the outcomes.
