Programmes
We recognize that modern political challenges require more than traditional diplomacy. We action our strategic pillars through a variety of programs, including:
Transatlantic Leadership — The Fellowship Programme
At the heart of Ceannas House is the Transatlantic Fellowship Programme — a spiritual successor of the Northern Ireland Emerging Leaders Programme, now operating under the Ceannas House umbrella. This flagship initiative has established itself as a proven success.
-
The Transatlantic Fellowship Programme: A rigorous forum for community leaders to develop and stress-test innovative policy solutions.
-
Mentorship: Fellows have direct access to a transatlantic network of legislative experts, civic leaders, and senior diplomats.
-
Legislative Immersion: Direct engagement with Stormont, Leinster House, and the U.S. Congress to turn theoretical frameworks into enacted policy.
-
Leadership development: Skills workshops to help turn ideas into actionable policy recommendations
Past cohorts have addressed topics including women, peace and security; educational reform; healthcare policy; human rights law; governance; rural youth development; and the arts in peacebuilding. The programme has hosted participants at the Ireland Mission to the UN, the Consulate General of Ireland in New York, the British Consulate, and Leinster House.
As an independent organisation, Ceannas House will continue to build and deepen this transatlantic network, expanding mentorship opportunities and increasing the programme's reach and ambition with each successive cohort. This isn’t just a leadership programme, it delivers actionable policy proposals and published policy papers that can have real impact.
Public Participation
Ceannas House recognizes that political deadlock is often a failure of elite-level imagination. We mitigate the risk of institutional collapse by building social cohesion through public participation.
-
The 2027 National Dialogue: A landmark civic exercise utilizing advanced deliberative democracy models to unlock stalled constitutional and identity issues in Ireland as part of the country’s transition toward a referendum on constitutional change.
-
Conflict De-escalation: Moving beyond partisan rhetoric to data-driven, citizen-led policy recommendations that offer alternative solutions to intractable problems.
Global Conflict Resolution and Risk Mitigation
Ceannas House serves as a bridge between the Irish model and global friction points to provide expert analysis and strategic interventions.
-
High-Stakes Intervention: Providing expert knowledge and mediation support for post-conflict societies through the multilateral system.
-
Technical Knowledge Exchange: Facilitating engagement for international delegations from the Balkans, Colombia, and the Middle East, focusing on the technicalities of power-sharing and border management.
-
Systemic Resilience: Analyzing global political trends to forecast and mitigate risks that could destabilize fragile peace agreements.
